Hello everyone! My name is Mikaela Terhune I am a junior at Tulane University in New Orleans. I am majoring in environmental biology and minoring in marine biology and business management. I grew up in a small town in upstate New York near the Adirondacks and have always had a great appreciation for the environment. Last summer I interned in New Hampshire on a whale watching boat and researched cetacean behavior around marine debris. The waste we produce has a profound impact on not only our immediate environment, but the oceans and atmosphere as well. My education in biology has allowed me to study the consequences of our society’s action on a minute level but I aspire to make big changes. This internship at Voiz as a sustainability analyst gives me the opportunity to motivate consumers to make more sustainable choices. Our society needs to incorporate more sustainable practices and I hope to start making that difference here at Voiz.
