Ciao! My name is Sofia, and I am currently in the final term of a MSc in Sustainable Resources at UCL. I am half-Indian and half-Italian, was born in London and grew up in a small village in the north of Italy. In Italy, my family and I lived on a tiny subsistence farm where my grandmother (who grew up during WW2) still grows vegetables, raises chickens, and even makes her own wine! My passion for sustainability started when I moved back to the UK for university and discovered that my everyday life was unsustainable and, ultimately, worse off. Within the realm of sustainability, I am especially interested in circular economy and am writing a dissertation on the barriers and enablers of CE in the textile industry in Italy. My other interests include reading, cooking, baking, watching TV series and history (I have a BA in History from King’s College London). I hope to one day soon work within the private sector to bring about systemic change for an effective transition to sustainable production.
