I really appreciate this company’s transparency on their products, production means, and the manufacturing origins. Hello Bello has taken its time to carefully design and think about the many outcomes that can come out of this business. Some people heavily depend on body wipes as an alternative to taking a shower because they can be perceived as more convenient, efficient, and sustainable. Many body wipes get caught up in the aesthetic parts like adding a ton of fragrance or “natural ” smell like lavender or shea butter to cover up the fact that many of their other ingredients are not so beneficial to the human body. Also, there are only a few body wipes that are actually flushable like toilet paper and Hello Bello has proven to be very open about their journey on achieving that unique quality to their wipes.
I was a bit skeptical at first when I found out these were made by celebrities because most of the time the product is 1)expensive and 2)inorganic or unsustainable. Usually, celebrities are just used as a marketing strategy to increase buyer interest and sales. However, this company is a bit different. As mentioned before, I found out about Bell and Sheppard as I explored their site. They did not present themselves as the face of the site, but more like they are a part of this larger community advocating for better baby and hygiene products. I believe this is a good product for anyone’s tushie. It changed my life when I started using it- fewer 2nd wipe trips to the bathroom. This company is honest and transparent, so they deserve an overall score of 3 planets.
Hello Bello is a sustainable version of body wipes that are actually flushable since they’re made of 99% water.
The body wipes are made of aqua, sodium benzoate, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, decyl glucoside, ethylhexylglycerin, Gluconolactone, hydroxyacetophenone, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, polyaminopropyl biguanide. While some of these ingredients seem unfamiliar at first, the company has decided to up its transparency game by including a simple breakdown of what each ingredient is (image included in the “Overall” part below). The package itself is made up of plastic that is easily recyclable.
I was shocked to find that in the FAQ section of the Hello Bello website they reveal honestly and openly who makes designs and makes their products. I did not have to write to the company to pull this information out of them. They are all about production transparency and I’m here for it. I have included a photo to the right showing such openness. At the bottom of the photo, they talk about the cutting-edge technology used in China to manufacture the wipes.
This product is made in China. This information can be found on Hello Bello’s FAQ section and on the back of their product packages. Celebrities Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard created this brand because they believed that diapers, wipes, and other hygiene products should be produced are organic as possible. While the company is still doing this on a larger scale compared to a smaller scale if this was a local business, they are still putting forth the effort of trying to make their products sustainable and affordable for everyone to enjoy.
