Pura d’or advanced therapy conditioner is undoubtedly an amazing sustainable product. It not only is a cure for all types of hair problems but is also environmentally driven. The product is suitable for all hair types and colored hair. Shelf life of the conditioner is 2 years after opening. The brand advices the consumers to use the conditioner post Pura d’or shampoo continuously for three months to see visible results. The brand also recommends pregnant women to consult a doctor before using the product to rule out any allergic response. Talking about the cost of the conditioner, it definitely is on the expensive end, a 16oz bottle costs $18.99. Regardless of the cost, if I were a customer and if I were to see a product like Pura d’or, I would definitely invest.

The ultimate goal of Pura d’or is to provide plant-based solutions for the toughest hair problems. It is evident from the ingredient list that most of the ingredients are plant based with few being certified as organic. The conditioner is free of SLS, paraben, harmful chemicals, artificial color, synthetic fragrance and gluten. It is hypoallergenic, cruelty free, environmentally responsible and vegan.

It is very common to see an alcohol-based ingredient in a synthetic conditioning product. But for a product that claims itself to be sustainable, it is radical to wonder why there are two alcohol derivates “Cetearyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol” in the list. Well, guess what? Those alcohols do not have synthetic roots but are plant derivates. They are not only safe and non-toxic, but are also not drying and irritating like other kinds of alcohols. Due to their chemical structure, they are permitted by the FDA as an ingredient in products labelled “alcohol free”. Though the origin of certain ingredients were not given on the site, it is safe to assume that they are of plant-origin based off the internet. The preservatives used in the brand are also natural. Though the brand is transparent on their ingredients, no information on the packaging product that they use was to be found.

Each and every ingredient is hand selected and actively synthesized. From formulation, to development, filling and completion each and every step is made in the house, and is monitored for strict quality control and consistency. The brand does not believe in using contract manufacturers. What is more interesting is that, the brand uses solar power facilities as their energy source. This shows the commitment the brand has towards the environment and their eco focus as a whole.

Pura d’or was created with the vision of transforming people’s lives through crafting organic, natural and plant-based products that are minimalistic and sustainable for Mother Earth. All Pura d’or products are made with three core values: Purity in every bottle, Peace with Mother Earth and Proven results for customers. I would call it 3P’s just like 3R’s of sustainability. One thing to notice is that, Pura d’or is working together with Eden Reforestation Projects to take part in giving back to nature by restoring global forests. The brand has committed to plating 100,000 trees over the span of 10 months. The brand will also plant one tree for every bottle purchased at their online store and will continue to do so until they have reached their target of 10 million trees.

Eden Reforestation Project: It is a non-profit whose mission is to provide fair wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global forest reforestation. Known as one of the most-cost effective reforestation projects on the planet, Eden Reforestation Projects hire the poorest of the poor to grow, plant, and guard to maturity native species forest on a massive scale.
