This company gets 1.5 planets due to their lack of supply-chain and production origins transparency. There seems to be some greenwashing here because the terms “100% vegan” and “100% natural” along with other random labels are slapped onto various pages and product descriptions. After extensive research of exploring the website and looking into other reviews, I can agree that this company uses organic ingredients, especially since their main infused herb is henna (https://reshmabeauty.com/henna/what-does-natural-henna-really-mean/). However, explicitly expressing the use of henna and other natural ingredients is not enough to be “100% natural” or sustainable. More is needed!
I am still waiting on a response from this company after reaching out a week ago. I hope to find out more information on their production origins, manufacturing means, and overall action-steps to improving their eco-impact. Again, just because a company praises itself by flooding its page with such labels depicted above does not mean that all its efforts are responsible and sustainable.
The Reshma Turmeric Gold Bundle comprises 4 products: [read left to right] (1) Turmeric Cream, (1) Ubtan Turmeric Face Mask, (1) Turmeric Bar Soap, and (1) Turmeric Face Wash. All of these products have the main ingredient of turmeric hence the bundle name. Unfortunately, each product had to search for separately on the Reshma website, since the bundle pages on this site do not provide much on each product’s description altogether. Thankfully, each product can easily be found under the “skincare” tab on this site. All the packaging is made from paper or plastic that can be recycled.

I did not find much on the website or product packaging on how it is produced. All I know is that this is a family-owned business with the lead creator and founderReshma Dordi (https://reshmabeauty.com/our-story/), who maintained this leading and in-demand South Asian henna beauty business for over 20 years. This is all the information I could find. This company lacks supply-chain transparency. This is concerning because the company praises itself for being 100% natural, but like most times people forget that “all-natural” includes responsible and sustainable production means, too.
This product is made in India. Specifically, this product is manufactured by HENNCOS OVERCS located on the 2nd floor, E-3, Malviya Industrial Area, Jaipur 302017. The Reshma Beuty Inc studio is located in California. This is all the information that I could find across their website and their products about their production origins. I have reached out on Instagram inquiring more about their production means and waiting for their response.
