I use their products, and after reviewing their company I would feel good about continuing to support their business. Not only is an alternative to products that use egg, it is also just as delicious and affordable. It competes with other big brands at supermarkets which says a lot about the success they have made.

what it's made of:

  • All of the ingredients are actually composed of items that most people already have at home, which shows how committed the company is to providing not only a vegan product but also a natural one. Often times people talk about how vegan speciality items are made with a lot of chemicals to create specific flavors, but this company prioritizes using “clean ingredients.”
  • Some details listed under the ingredients seem unimportant to me, but may be significant for a niche clientele.
  • Non-GMO Project Verified, Egg-free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Kosher, No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Preservatives (this doesn’t say much about their sustainability)
  • They use BPA-free recyclable plastic.

how it's made:

  • Unlike other companies, Just has an impact report. However, there are several articles that say Just falsified environmental impacts, so I am not sure if the information provided by Just is credible. While rating their process I will err on the side of suspicion, but nevertheless Just does provide a lot of details.
  • “JUST Egg uses 98% less water, has a 93% smaller carbon footprint and uses 86% less land than conventional animal sources. It is one of the most sustainable protein sources on the planet”
  • The sustainability report is very thorough and easy to ready, and the techniques they use are transformative. Some people believe that plant-based diets are sustainable to an extent because agriculture can be harmful to the environment, but Just shows how technology can help mitigate the detrimental effects.
  • They source their ingredients from farms in rural communities, so there is a lot of transparency in the specifics.

who makes it:

Just is a company that prides its’ self on being vegan, health, and sustainable. They are also a company that focuses heavily on research and development, which shows their dedication towards growth in the modern age. They also give back economically by partnering with underprivileged communities. However, I did not see any other charitable work, which I was expecting because of reputation they have of being a conscientious company.
